Install NoteContour

Recommended: itch desktop app

1. Install the itch desktop app.
2. Open your NoteContour purchase or demo in itch and choose Install.
3. Launch NoteContour from itch. Future updates arrive through the same app.

The itch app is the easiest installation path while NoteContour is distributed without Apple notarization.

Direct download

1. Download only from the official NoteContour itch page and move NoteContour.app to Applications.
2. Try to open it once. macOS will warn that the developer cannot be verified.
3. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to Security, select Open Anyway, and confirm.

Apple documents this process in Open a Mac app from an unknown developer. Continue only if the download came from the official page.

Grant the two required permissions

1. Open Apple Notes and select a note.
2. In NoteContour Settings, allow Automation access to Apple Notes.
3. In System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility, enable NoteContour.

Full Disk Access, Screen Recording, and Input Monitoring are not required.

Upgrade from the demo

Quit the demo and install the paid build over it. Both builds have the same app identity, so macOS permissions should remain when the signed app is replaced normally.
