Privacy Policy

NoteContour is a local-first macOS app. It does not require an account, include advertising or analytics, or send note content to the developer.

Data handled by the app

• Apple Notes content is read on your Mac through Apple Events to provide outline, search, backlinks, templates, and Markdown export.
• Accessibility access is used locally for editing actions, keyboard commands, selection formatting, and outline navigation.
• A read-only search/backlink cache is stored in your Mac user Library cache folder.
• The demo stores only its first-use and last-seen timestamps in your macOS login Keychain. The paid build does not perform license checks.

NoteContour does not read the private Apple Notes database, bypass locked notes, or upload notes, cache contents, diagnostics, or trial timestamps.

Website, purchases, and support

madebyjulian.com is served by Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process routine request data under its own privacy policy. If Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled, it provides aggregate traffic measurements without cookies or cross-site tracking.

Purchases and downloads are handled by itch.io. Payment and account data are governed by itch.io and its payment providers; NoteContour does not receive card details. Support email contains whatever information you choose to send and is kept only as long as needed to resolve the request and maintain necessary records.

Your choices

You can revoke NoteContour's Accessibility or Automation permissions in macOS System Settings and delete the app at any time. You can remove its local cache from your user Library. For privacy questions or deletion requests concerning support messages, email support@madebyjulian.com.

This policy may be updated when the product's data practices change. Material changes will be posted with a new date.
